About Us

The Builders of Tomorrow BC Foundation is proudly supported by the Construction Labour Relations Association of BC (CLR). We provide scholarships, bursaries, and resources to students and professionals pursuing construction-related education and training. We aim to nurture talent, address industry demands, and positively impact communities across BC.


Scholarships and Bursaries

We offer annual scholarships and bursaries to support students and professionals based on academic excellence, financial need and commitment to construction.


Key Dates for 2024:

  • Application Deadline: Online application for awards ends on May 31
  • Application Review Begins: Online application review begins in June
  • Notifications to Recipients: Notifications will be sent in July
  • Award Disbursement: Funds will be distributed to recipients by October.
  • Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed according to the specified timeline, which may be adjusted at the discretion of the Foundation.

Eligibility:

These Terms and Conditions apply to Builders of Tomorrow BC Foundation Scholarship and Bursary Program applicants and govern the use of awarded funds, confidentiality obligations, and compliance with Foundation policies.

  1. Applications must be complete and submitted by the published deadline.
  2. Applicants must be between the ages of 17-30.
  3. Applicants must be enrolled in a construction-related program in BC (with proof of enrollment provided to the Foundation as part of the application). Applications are open to both public and non-public post-secondary institutions. All institutions must be approved by SkilledTradesBC or another recognized authority within BC to ensure legitimacy and relevance. Any post-secondary institutions other than those recognized by SkilledTradesBC may be considered at the sole discretion of the Foundation Board. These include:
      • Public Post-Secondary Institutions in BC: Automatically eligible.
      • Non-Public Post-Secondary Institutions in BC: Eligible on a case-by-case basis, provided the program is related to a construction trade or supports a role within the construction industry.
  1. Applicants must be seeking scholarships or bursaries for education in construction or related fields, with applications supporting students in construction trades or academics who demonstrate financial need, academic excellence, and potential industry contribution.
  2. Applicants from previous years are welcome to reapply

Applicants may apply for either or both scholarships and bursaries.
· Scholarship applications require academic transcripts.
· Bursary applications require a description of financial need.
If eligible for both, the committee will determine the appropriate award based on all submitted materials. Payments will be issued by cheque directly to recipients after proof of enrollment is provided. The Foundation may follow up with recipients periodically to confirm the funds were used as intended.

  2. Complete the Form: Provide all required information and documents.
  3. Submit Your Application: Email your completed application to info@buildersoftomorrowbc.com by May 31. Please include “Application Form” in the email subject title. If you are applying through the online form you do not need to send a copy of your application via email.

Applications Evaluation:

  1. Written statements are evaluated by the Selection Committee to shortlist candidates.
  2. Written answers will be used to assess and differentiate applicants based on their responses.
  3. Shortlisted candidates will undergo further evaluation.
  4. The Selection Committee will select conditional recipients. The scholarship amounts may vary annually depending on the Foundation’s fundraising outcomes and the discretion of the Foundation Board. Final award amounts will be determined during the application evaluation process.
  5. Fund Disbursement: Scholarship and bursary funds will be disbursed directly to the recipient via cheque, contingent upon receipt of proof of enrollment.
